Slave Maker Release: Version 3.4

This is the new release for the game, finally ready for all. While it is not bug free from the beta it is fairly stable and I will release fixes.

This contains all released content for the game, all 3rd party slaves, minor slaves, and events. It does exclude some content I do not wish to distrubute, like so loli minor slaves. If you must, there is a thread in the Futanari Palace with some such content.

Due to the amount of time since the last release and the number of changes for slaves, I am only going to provide a full installation for the game. Especially as there were issues people had with the locations of some slaves folders and missing images for minor slaves and so on. This will ensure we are all at the same point.

Still if bandwidth is an issue for you see lower, I will give instructions how you can upgrade an installation with minimal downloads (405Mb), and also by using the provided torrent.

Note: the game is currently 5.7Gb in size

these are all 5.2Mb is size torrents. When the torrent starts it will create a folder
SlaveMaker 3.4 in you standard torrent folder. When the torrent completes, move this to the location of your choice, you may rename it if you wish.

See the upgrade details below for a way to finish downloading faster using the torrent, but with some possible left over, and harmless files.

Note:
I will not provide magnet links for the torrent, please do not ask. If someone else provides me such a link I will repost.

Packs

Theses are the game divided into parts, each allowing selected portions of the game to be dowloaded. This allows you to save download time and bandwidth as you need.

All files in the packs are in the torrent version, there is no need to download both

I will not be providing separate torrents for the packs.

The packs are

• Basic Pack - this is the core game. It is a basic playable version of the game with a few slaves,  assistants and minor slaves
• Assistants Pack - an add-on that adds many more assistants for the game
• Minor Slaves Pack - an add-on that adds many more minor slaves to the game
• Events Pack - an add-on that adds additional content to the game, developed by 3rd party developers
• Slave Packs 1 to 11 - These are collections of 10 slaves for the game (packs 10 and 11 have less than 10 slaves)

Installing:

Download the file or files and extract into a folder of your choice. Each downloaded file will create a folder
SlaveMaker 3.4
if asked merge any folders in common, you should not be asked to overwrite any files, but if asked then agree to do so.
DO NOT extract each pack into a separate folder, make sure each are extracted into the same base folder

I am in the final process of releasing the new version 3.4. I am uploading to a filehost and mirrors. It will take a while for this, I hope to post the links tomorrow

Flash Oddities and hung games

I have had a report where a player would start the game and it hangs after selecting a slave. There were also only a few slaves shown.

After some testing and debugging this seems to have been caused by a Flash security issue preventing the game loading key files it needs to run, notably Assistants text files, and some of the slave girl files.

This can be fixed by adding the game installation to the Trusted Locations for Flash.

The below are for Windows 7, you may have some differences for Windows 8 or previous OS's. There are similar settings for other OS's but I do not know where they are immediately, you need to be able to change the Flash settings.

a) open the control panel
b) visit System & Security
c) Select the option for Flash
then
1) Check the Advanced tab
2) click "Trusted Location Settings"
3) click the Add button
4) click Add Folder, browse and locate your game installation, and click Confirm

OR
When running the game right click on the window and select "Global Settings", and do steps  1-4

You can also do this by visiting this web page

and do steps 1-4 above. This is probably simplest for non-Windows users

Please note:
not all players are affected by this it seems to be related to a security settings, in the OS or browser that probably makes Flash be more secure and prevent it loading some external files.

EDIT:

This may not actually help as I musunderstood the person reporting the issue and thought it was fixed when I asked them to do this. Turns out it was not.

Beta Complete

Recently I posted release 14 of the Beta for version 3.4. Also did 2 quick fixes.

I am not getting any significant issues, nothing game breaking. I will check any feedback from the last fix, but I would say based on this the beta test is complete.

I will move to making a new release of the game. This is a little complex to create and test the slave packs. I may do a brief test releases, or just go fully.

So Version 3.4 will be being release within the next week, let us say most likely not this weekend but the next to allow me some checking a final bug fixes and then enough time to check the release.

Update

As you see my hope to get the game released before the end of last month did not work. The last beta has issues, but not too many (one biggy though). I hope to release one last beta later today and assuming no significant issue that will be it, I will release version 3.4

Midna problem

In February I released an unoffocial update for the slave Midna. There is a bug in the release that can block following slaves from appearning in the Slave Market.

If you see this then the fix is simple

a) edit the file
Slaves/SlaveGirl93.txt

b) change the text using an editor like NotePad, VI etc. Alter
