Hi,
a small note: the game has really been annoying me recently.
I tried to refact too much for the new version 3.4 and sort of overwhelmend by bugs I should of caught in testing before.
Some issues where left over bugs from 3.3 like some issues for Ayane, Akane and a few other slaves so nice to get them resolved.
Still a combination of bugs, some depression and bad health have been slowing down thing recently. I have to have a much more functional beta out this week or this weekend.
note: I posted a Beta 8 a little while ago, as noted Beta 9 soon
Lastly I will repost some 3rd party releases soon, notably
- new slave Momo Hinamori
- new slave Mikhaila (a furry)
both available in Futanari Palace

Ah, don't worry too much cmac. Remember, you're doing this for free and you've got a lot of people locating bugs so overall, it makes your job a lot easier. Don't be so hard on yourself because you didn't find a lot of these bugs, yourself, because that's just something that tends to grow alongside big software programs such as Slavemaker.
ReplyDeleteI've been procrastinating on the FAQ because I've been busy in real life, too. Plus, I'm preparing to move on from Windows XP because service is being cut off shortly. Although if there's one thing I'd really like to ask you about, it's what you think might be the system requirements for the game are.

Yeah, I noticed. The number of bugs this time are huge compared to the last releases. Do not get under pressure because of that and do it step by step so you still have some fun in programming.
ReplyDeleteCMac,
ReplyDeleteKeeping the pool neat and clean for all of us is important, to be sure. But you should jump in and take a swim once in a while too. :-)

This is my first post and I'm sure there are much more people like me here, who just play the game and rarely comment.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I appreciate everything you do with this game. Take your time if you need it and don't burn the candle at both ends.
Just take your time with it. Health comes first anyway.
ReplyDeleteWe've been waiting for a long time now for a new version, so a couple more months of waiting isn't really that much. Take a break man, or at least take it slow. I wanted to let you know that yours is the only game forum that I really pay attention too. Your work is sincerely awesome, and I wouldn't like for you to be stressed out and depressed for having to do this :c
ReplyDeleteWhoah depression is a downward spiral Cmac you cheer yourself up first buddy before working on this if you are depressed and this is stressing you out then screw this it can wait. You are way more important than this game just take some time off and relax :)
ReplyDeleteBeen dealing with depression all my life. It's one hell of an insidious monster. The main things that help me out of a funk are meds, exercise and more exercise. Fucking exercise. So hard, but so worth it in the end. I say take a break, and go on a nice hike!
ReplyDeleteDon't stress yourself too hard. Health always come first!
ReplyDeletehey Cmac, The full release, what exactly does that encompass? The entire game, Completely patched, and complete with all the extra slave packs and what not? or just the entire game, without anything else? or even anything in between?
ReplyDeleteThe full release will have all released content, all slaves and add-ons released
Deleteokay does this include the patches? just want to be completely sure.
DeleteMy apologies but that is a slightly silly query.
DeleteYou are suggesting there that I would release a new version of the game that is not the complete and fully updated version.
Strangely enough, the full release will have everything in it as I said "all released content"
i apologize. i meant the beta releases which i assume aren't stable them being betas and all. what im asking is if the beta patch is included with the full version. now im assuming yes considering your last reply but my assumptions are more times then not, wrong.
DeleteBetas are nothing more than early releases of the full version for the purpose of testing and bug fixing. That's why they're called betas, after all.
DeleteThe whole purpose of having betas is to find bugs and fix them before the full release goes live. It's usually done with larger pieces of software like Slavemaker, and since only one person (cmac) develops the core game, there are a lot of things that can be easily overlooked.

Daniel,
Deletethe full release of version 3.4 will include all feature of the betas of course as the beta are pre-release versions of version 3.4
in other words, the betas are not included in the 3.3 full release. thats all i wanted to know thank you.
Deleteif you make a full release even unfinished, we could help you by finding the bugs and reporting y'know?
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about the bugs being compatibility issues with the engine program ae the flash player if that mite be that haveing a dedicated bridging program or your own engine program mite help to fix many of the issues this is just a observation of all the problems that pop up
ReplyDeleteNot compatibilty issue, just bugs in the code from where I did extensive coding changes
DeleteThanks for all your hard work. I know coding in flash isn't always the easiest! I found this game a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it I've played probably about 100 hours. So thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteIf I can make a suggestion, would it be possible to add local saves like in CoC?
I've got some problems with the flash saves and it would be really great if you could consider adding a function like this in the future, if it isn't to much work.
Don't forget your hapiness is the most important thing. If you want to take a break, or even stop the game developement, i assume we would all understand.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best !
Just where exactly are the Betas being posted anyways? I am honestly not seeing a link for them anywhere.
